Finland conference on crime narratives


The University of Tampere in Finland is to host a one-day academic conference on “New Approaches to Studying Crime Narratives” on 14 October 2016.

There is no conference fee, but participants must cover all costs for their travel, accommodation and subsistence.

The symposium will discuss new methodological and theoretical perspectives on how to study literary, televisual and filmic crime narratives, and recent developments in the field of crime writing. It will deal with crime narratives in a wide sense, from detective fiction to spy stories, thrillers and true crime.

The keynote speaker is Dr Christiana Gregoriou from the University of Leeds.

Participants should register by 21 August 2016. The language of the symposium is English.
