'Asking For It' is set for the small screen

Irish author Louise O’Neill is to co-write the TV adaptation of her best-selling novel Asking for It, which was our Book of the Month last September.

The rights were acquired by Bandit Television, Endemol Shine UK’s scripted production label. Its managing director Philippa Giles previously worked on Luther and Silent Witness for BBC Drama.
O'Neill told the Guardian that she was particularly happy that Bandit was involved. "They have such an interesting, sensitive vision for the project. I’m hopeful that this will create more awareness around rape culture and the issue of consent."

Last September the rights to O’Neill’s debut novel, Only Ever Yours, were acquired by Killer Conten. It's planning a film version and a TV series based on the the dystopian and futuristic story.
