A James Joyce crime story: 'Two Gallants'

For the day that's in it, here is Carl Finnegan's new short film, a modern retelling of a criminal tale from James Joyce's short story collection Dubliners.



In Two Gallants, Lenehan is down on his luck and will do almost anything to get by. His shady friend Corley will do almost anything to line his own wallet. Corley wants to rob a wealthy Dublin family's safe, using their young Polish maid Magda.

The short is the first instalment of Rose Finn Films' "Joyce on Film" series. It features the unreleased song "Where Are We Here?" by Fast from the Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
